Introduction: Explore ideas for including fun fellowship in your men’s ministry.
Summary:
- Real, authentic community requires time together and cultivates deep connections
- Sometimes it happens naturally; sometimes it must be planned—build in time for fun and fellowship. For example:
- Weekly coffee gathering to get together and talk about life
- Going out for meal after another event or service project
- Fishing trip
- Men’s retreat (check out CTA’s men’s retreats!) and fun outdoors
- Including wives and families
- Sporting events
- Game night
- Let your men dictate the direction of the activities but be aware of “entry points” to avoid some feeling left out
- Don’t feel every activity must have a Gospel proclamation—sometimes outreach happens with building relationships
Thought Starters:
- Begin by thinking of one small event—alone or connected to an existing event—to foster fun and fellowship for the men in your ministry. What are three steps you could take to make it happen?
