It’s easy to lose our sense of contentment and satisfaction in daily life. It is okay to struggle with contentment. It is human. When this happens, God invites us to draw near to him. Here are 30 prayers, Scripture verses, and truths to reflect on as we look to God for help in being content in our circumstances.
- Lord, help me to be content with what you have given me.
- “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” (James 1:17 ESV).
- “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content” (Philippians 4:11 ESV).
- Heavenly Father, you supply me with everything I need. (See Philippians 4:19.)
- “God’s peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7 NLT).
- “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4 ESV).
- “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all [your needs] will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 ESV).
- Holy Spirit, fill me so that I may feel peace and security (See Isaiah 32:18.)
