Some women’s ministry teams do not host a Christmas event—that’s okay!—and instead support other events going on at their church.

Tips for women’s ministry teams that want to host a Christmas event:

  • Events we host for ourselves
    • Might use guest speakers, decorated tables, special music, etc.
    • Avoid gift-exchange formats that can result in hurt feelings
  • Events we host as an outreach (may look similar to “internal” events)
    • Focus on unchurched women: share the gospel message
    • Follow up with an invite to other events

    • Partner with other ministries
      • Parachurch ministries—faith-based organizations that work across denominational lines

      • Organize or distribute gifts for a local organization
    • Include an opportunity or activity that serves others
      • Write notes for newly widowed in your ministry
      • Donate food for Christmas food baskets
      • Collect undergarments for local women’s shelter
      • Assemble small gifts for teachers at local schools
