Churches of all sizes hand out impactful Father’s Day gifts from CTA

There are more than 72 million fathers in the United States today. Wow! How many fathers are part of your ministry?
Whether you have a big group of fathers or just a few, you can impact their faith this Father’s Day (June 16)! With gifts from CTA, you can honor men and encourage them to be faith leaders for their families, their church, and their community.
Pastor Rodney Gable leads a small church in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, which sees about 30 worshipers each week. The church, Haven Baptist, uses Father’s Day as an opportunity to deepen men’s faith. During worship services on Father’s Day, Pastor Rodney preaches a message about what God’s Word has to say about on the position of fatherhood and the wonderful responsibilities of being a father. Last year on Father’s Day, Pastor Rodney gave men the God's Direction Is Always Best® Devotion Book & Pen Gift Set. “I like giving my members a daily devotion to assist them with their personal devotions and this book serves that purpose well,” explains Rodney.
First Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, also seeks to impact men’s faith by honoring all men on Father’s Day. “We don’t differentiate between those that are fathers and those that are not. We don’t want any man to feel left out,” said Barbara Sanders, the church’s office administrator. She purchased Romans Road to Heaven bookmarks as Father’s Day gifts last year.
“We use the gifts as a way to appreciate the men and to say ‘thank you’ and ‘we love you,’” explains Barbara. On Father’s Day, First Baptist also takes up a love offering and donates the money to a local charity that helps developmentally disabled individuals.
Parkview Christian Church in Meridian, Idaho, took their Father’s Day gift a step further last year. They handed out the God's Direction Is Always Best® devotion book and used it as a springboard to invite men to a monthly men’s breakfast, a golf tournament, and other events. They packaged the Father’s Day devotion book together with a list of upcoming events to inform the men of how to get involved and to inspire them in their position as Christian role models. “I like to make the connection with fatherhood and getting men involved as role models, especially on Father’ Day with so many of our men present in church,” said Pastor Justin McMudie.
For nearly 20 years, Eagle Christian Church in Eagle, Idaho, has hosted an incredibly fun Father’s Day event—a Father’s Day car show! Pastor Steve Crane, founding pastor of the church, originally had the idea for this community outreach event. With a congregation of around 3,700 members, Eagle Christian has the manpower to put on an impressive event.
“It’s an opportunity to engage with those that aren’t normally in church and to minister to those who are there for the first time,” explained Pastor Mark Post, Pastor of Men, Missions, and Family Life at Eagle Christian. Last year, the church handed out CTA’s Anchored in Christ devotion books after church services as gifts for the men, and as giveaways, along with mugs and water bottles, to the car-show crowd.
Last year the car show hosted over 400 cars. “We added a quilt show as a complement to the car show with great success,” added Pastor Mark, “and the quilting ladies made a car quilt that we gave away at the show.” The church also partnered with area sponsors who donated giveaways for the car show.
“This is one more way to reach our community with God’s love and to celebrate life in Jesus with our greater community,” said Pastor Mark.
