When I Need Joy

By Jane L Fryar

The joy of the LORD is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10 ESV).

The source of true joy is Jesus!

Bask in his kindness.

Rely on his forgiveness.

Rest in his love.

Get ready for the eternity he’s preparing for you.

Then . . .

Trouble cannot defeat you.

Death cannot kill you.

Sin will never separate you from your Savior.

Rejoice!

Pray:

Heavenly Father, the joy you give is irresistible, inexpressible. I am so blessed! I know your friendship! I belong to your faith family! I am receiving your wonderful gifts!  . . .

Lord Jesus, so many people around me have never, ever known your joy. Others were once captivated by it but now have walked away. Bring them home, Lord! Bring them all home! I pray especially for . . .

Stir up your joy in my heart, Lord! I want to burst out in thanksgiving and praise for all you are to me, for all you’ve done for me. I praise you, my God, for . . .

His anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning (Psalm 30:5 NLT).
