We have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory (Romans 5:1–2 NLT).
Nathan could hardly believe it! His best friend, Owen, won a trip to the greatest amusement park ever! What’s more, Owen invited Nathan to go along! “I can bring a friend, and I want to bring you!” Owen said. Both boys laughed and jumped and fist-bumped for joy!
Did Nathan do anything to earn his trip to the amusement park? No. His friend entered the contest. Owen was the winner. Nathan did nothing to deserve the special trip. He was just Owen’s friend, and Owen wanted to share the fun with Nathan.
Jesus is your Friend and he wants to share a special place with you too! It’s heaven. You can’t get into heaven on your own. Only Jesus can take you there. Jesus obeyed God perfectly—in your place. Jesus died on the cross—in your place. Then your Best Friend, Jesus, came alive again.
Jesus fought Satan and death—for you! And he won! Your Friend, Jesus, wants you to share his victory and his glory. Just imagine . . . the most magnificent, beautiful, awesome place ever—heaven! And Jesus has invited you to live there with him!
