Easter Made Easy!

“He is not here: for he is risen” (Matthew 28:6 KJV).

What a powerful message - our Lord and Savior has defeated death! The Easter message is filled with triumphant joy that’s meant to be shouted from the rooftops!

But you surely don’t have to go to that extreme to create a meaningful Easter celebration at your church. We’ve outlined three simple steps that make it easy to host an Easter event for children. Get started today - Easter (April 21) will be here soon!

  1. Make a plan.
How do you want to celebrate Easter with the kids at your church? Gather your ministry team to brainstorm ideas. Be sure to plan an event that works well for your group. Ask what dates, times, and locations are available on the church calendar. Consider the ages of the children and how many will be participating. Think about how many volunteers you’ll need and what kind of a budget you have for buying supplies. Look for resources to help you plan a theme and activities for your Easter event. Don’t forget - CTA offers three downloadable Easter event outlines. They’re filled with fun, Bible-based Easter activities created especially for young children.
  1. Gather supplies.
Make a master list of necessary supplies and assign a few items to each of your ministry team members. Put a special announcement in your church’s bulletin or newsletter asking for donated materials or monetary contributions. And don’t forget to line up your teaching materials! Look to CTA’s Resource & Idea Center for a wide variety of Bible-based Easter materials - Ministry Messages, PowerPoint presentations, coloring pages, and more.
  1. Celebrate!
Gather the children and celebrate Jesus’ Easter resurrection! Extend the impact of your Resurrection Day celebration by sending the children home with Christian Easter baskets or goodie bags. If your budget allows, give each child two Easter gifts - one to keep and one to share.

Be sure to order your Easter gifts and resources before April 5 to ensure delivery for Resurrection Day!
