Ten Easy Steps to Get Your Children’s Christmas Service off the Ground!

By CTA – Christ to All

Preparing for your children’s Christmas service can be a daunting task, but we at CTA are here to help! Again this year, we’ve created a Christmas Service Resource Pack (Item #NLN2RE2CS) for A Night like No Other, which includes two Christmas services—one for elementary children and one for preschool children—and multiple music files. Once you’ve chosen your dates, find explanations of these ten easy steps, spelled out at the beginning of each children’s service document, for a memorable and meaningful service:

  1. Recruit volunteers—whether your group is large or small, you’ll need some help
  2. Invite and advertise—be sure to use the A Night like No Other promotional resource pack (Item #NLN22REPK) to help with your publicity
  3. Customize the script for your specific ministry—our word-processing documents make adding the children’s names or swapping out songs or Bible verses a cinch
  4. Assign parts—you know the children in your ministry
  5. Assemble costumes—specific examples of easy costumes included
  6. Assemble sets and props—make it as simple or as elaborate as you want
  7. Practice
  8. Give instructions to parents and children
  9. On-the-day preparations—last-minute reminders
  10. Give thanks—not just after your service is finished but also at each step of the journey
